The Irvin Stern Foundation is a small charitable trust established in 1957 which makes grants to organizations in the areas of human services, civic affairs, and Jewish welfare. The Foundation makes use of Grantmaker—an internal web application—to manage all aspects of grant requests, such as maintaining information about the requesting organizations (contact information, type of organization, mission statement), grant requests and their statuses, keeping track of correspondence, etc. Chicago Code made extensive changes to the existing Grantmaker application, refactoring certain areas and making enhancements to create a more user-friendly application.
